Mmmmm... squashed bugs.

Fixed in this release:

  • Enter key shortcut now works on Snow Leopard to bring up detail window.
  • Fix for bug where requests left hanging in 'Receiving' state even though complete (whilst TCP connections kept alive for 1xx, 204 and 304 response codes or HEAD requests).
  • Fixed occasional failure to update hex view when a new packet selected in TCP/IP tab.

New in version 1.4.2 (released 3rd May 2009)...

French localisation.

A big merci to Pierre Rudloff for the translation. Offers of help for new localisations are warmly welcomed - please get in touch!

Lots of bug fixes, including:

  • Follow button now working correctly.
  • All Ethernet-type UNIX network interfaces now usable (useful for capturing from some VPNs, Virtual Machines and GSM/3G modems).
  • Solved freeze on certain (invalid) HTTP parameters.
  • Large (>2kB) cookies (and other HTTP headers) now handled properly.
  • Fixed crash on network interface going down during capture.
  • Fixed occasional crash on exit.
  • Fixed response handling where no Content-length specified for non-chunked requests.

New in version 1.4.1...

Copy to clipboard.

Copy headers, parameters, responses or POST data to the clipboard with a single key combo. Take a look at the new and improved Edit menu.

For your convenience...

The last network interface used is now preselected when the application starts.

Need to work with chunky HTTP requests?

Now you can remove the size limits placed on viewing data: just tick the Don't limit amount of data checkbox in Preferences.

Mmmmm... squashed bugs.

  • Resolved an issue which prevented licences being recognised as valid when certain languages are selected in System Preferences.
  • Fixed a bug which can cause a crash when an inactive network interface is selected.

Special thanks to...

I'd like to say a big thanks to everyone who helped beta test this version. Honourable mentions go to Perry Clarke and Scott Maier for their extensive testing and feedback.

Bug reports, feature requests and general feedback are always appreciated and responded to. If you have something to say or want to become a beta tester, don't think twice about dropping me a line.

New in version 1.4.0...

HTTP performance analysis.

Round-trip times are now captured and displayed in both the main window and the HTTP Request Detail view. Great for performance tuning your website or application.

Easier navigation.

Quickly move between requests using the Select Next and Select Previous shortcuts. Handy for checking the differences between requests.

Faster, less memory hungry and more stable.

A number of improvements have been made which should make a big difference in how the application feels to use. It now runs significantly faster and leaner, even when large amounts of data have been captured. A number of bugs have been eliminated which used to cause periodic crashing, especially when under high load.

Slicker updates.

Now it's even easier to upgrade thanks to the Sparkle library. Updates can be downloaded and installed at the click of a button.
